Our client is a fast-paced, creative product development firm that provides a full suite of product development services within multiple industries, including medical devices, scientific instrumentation, consumer products, avionics, and military.
Our client is currently looking for a full-time embedded systems design engineer to expand the capabilities of our team with personnel possessing experience and interest in medical device development.
Position: Embedded Systems Engineer
Responsibilities:
Technical
• Responsible for concept generation, design, development and evaluation of new products.
• Participates in collecting/developing and analyzing design inputs.
• Designs and implements embedded firmware for 8-bit to 32-bit microcontroller systems.
• Designs and implements application software for PC-based support applications.
• Designs and implements analog and digital electronic circuits and systems.
• Provides inputs to and oversees printed circuit board design and fabrication
• Plans and coordinates engineering prototype builds.
• Develops test requirements, plans, and protocols to assure customer and regulatory requirements are met.
• Writes and approves test protocols, reports and data.
• Manages testing outlined in protocols and test methods.
• Manages/develops validation studies on equipment and processes.
• Analyzes problems in design, process and test development. Recommends/implements solutions.
Non-technical
• Maintains a professional working relationship with internal and external customers and support staff.
• Participates in and leads cross-functional teams.
• Directs junior engineers in their project work.
• Understands and follows company procedures and regulatory requirements and executes within design control processes.
• Participates in and provides input to training on department and division procedures, and policies.
• Participates in project planning, budgeting, scheduling and tracking.
• Promotes the sale of projects and supports customer-facing technical sales process.
• Prepares and presents oral and written project updates and technical discussions.
Qualifications:
We are seeking the best-fit candidate, regardless of experience level. This motivated team player will possess BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering and demonstrated customer-facing skills.
• Programming experience in C, C++, and at least one other language is required.
• Java programming experience is desirable.
• Experience with Linux and other RTOS's is desired. Windows CE experience is desirable.
• Experience programming drivers is desirable.
• Experience in hardware design including: low-level, low noise design, switching power supply design, high speed digital design, and FPGA design is also desirable.
• Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB design process flows is desirable.
Engineer III
• BSEE with 8 years of engineering experience within the medical device or equivalent regulated industry OR
• MSEE with 6 years of engineering experience within the medical device or equivalent regulated industry.
• Three years proven and effective project leadership / management skills.
• Experience with schematic capture, design analysis tools, and PCB layout tools and process flows
• Proven experience and familiarity with the implementation of FDA, FCC, UL, and CE compliance.
Engineer II
Qualifications:
• BSEE with 5 years of engineering experience
• MSEE with 0-3 years of engineering experience within the medical device or equivalent regulated industry.
• Experience with schematic capture, design analysis tools, and PCB layout tools
• Familiarity with the implementation of FDA, FCC, UL, and CE compliance.
Engineer I
Qualifications:
• BSEE or MSEE with 0-3 years of engineering experience
• Familiarity with or interest in the implementation of FDA, FCC, UL, and CE compliance.
