| Job Description |
: The position will require design and customization of developmental systems to meet the changing needs of R&D programs. The candidate will need to be creative and work with other staff to assemble prototype hardware and software systems to support on-going programs. Existing research projects include the development of novel wireless, electrical and ultrasonic technologies for materials characterization, structural monitoring, chemical process control, and medical devices. Some travel may be required and the ability to document and relate technical information verbally and in written form to team members and outside customers is critical. An ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced interdisciplinary environment is essential.
BS in electrical engineering with specific knowledge of device design and development. Exceptional troubleshooting skills with hands-on experience with analog design, test equipment and current prototyping techniques a must. Knowledge of embedded design & development, circuit design and analysis, and printed circuit layout are all beneficial. Candidates should be skilled in the use of test equipment such as data acquisition hardware, oscilloscopes, function generators, and spectrum and network analyzers. The ability to program in MATLAB, LabView and C, C++, JAVA or Visual Basic is desirable.
