: . The position will require design and customization of test systems to meet the changing needs of product research and development projects. Existing projects include the development of novel wireless, electrical and fiber optic sensors for materials characterization and structural monitoring, chemical process control, and medical devices. Some travel may be required and the ability to document and relate technical information verbally and in written form is important. An ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced interdisciplinary environment is essential. The candidate will need to be creative and work with other staff to develop and implement software to support research and development efforts.
Ideal applicants will have a BS in computer science or engineering with specific knowledge/skills as described below.
1-2 years experience in an engineering environment
Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following development Languages: C/C++, Java, C#, Python or similar.
Experience in multi-platform GUI development
Experience in program flow diagram development
Ability to develop software requirements documents and to perform requirements tracking based on documentation
Familiarity with configuration management/revision control techniques
Also, experience with Matlab and LabVIEW is beneficial. Experience configuring and maintaining web services (HTML, SQL, PHP) and an understanding of embedded code development are both of value.
Due to the nature of our work in the government contract research area, U.S Citizenship is required.
